Part A: Listening Level Assessment and Baseline
- Current Listening Audit: For 5 consecutive workdays, track your listening level in different contexts:
- Meeting Settings:
- Rate each meeting interaction (1=Level 1, 2=Level 2, 3=Level 3)
- Note what caused you to operate at different levels
- Identify patterns in when you listen most/least effectively
- One-on-One Conversations:
- Document your listening quality with different people
- Notice who you listen to most effectively and why
- Track instances where you were formulating responses instead of listening
- Casual Interactions:
- Assess your presence during informal conversations
- Note distractions that pull you away from active listening
- Identify opportunities where deeper listening could have been valuable
